Accompanied by grandmothers and parents, our founder Ping Ho made regular treks to the “wet market”, where the direct connection between buyers and butchers left a lasting impression. Those producers' unparalleled knowledge of meat origin and quality, as well as their strong bond to the local community was something she found lacking in Detroit's meat offerings.

By creating Marrow in partnership with Greg Reyner and Chef Sarah Welch, Ping hopes to spur a return to the old world practices of buying direct and supporting small local producers.
